Controller. Orban Foundation (“we,” “us,” “our”) is the controller for personal data processed by this platform.
Scope. This policy applies to personal data processed through the platform, including the public website, user accounts, and publication workflows.

- Account and profile data such as name, email, affiliation, department, username, and optional profile bio.
- Content data such as manuscripts, preprints, lecture uploads, and related metadata.
- Activity and system data such as login timestamps and operational logs needed to run the service.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive data. If sensitive or unexpected personal data appears in lecture uploads or manuscripts, it is treated as content data and handled according to this policy.

- Provide the platform and user accounts.
- Process and publish manuscripts and preprints.
- Support editorial and review workflows.
- Maintain platform security and integrity.

We do not sell personal data. We do not share personal data with third-party processors at this time. We may disclose data where required by law or to protect the security and integrity of the platform.
Data Location and Transfers
Data is hosted in Canada and managed directly by Orban Foundation. Access from other jurisdictions may involve cross-border transfers. We apply reasonable safeguards to protect personal data regardless of location.
Data Retention
- Account data is retained while the user maintains an active account.
- Publications with minted DOIs are retained permanently for scholarly record integrity.
- Operational logs are retained only as long as needed for security and platform operation.
Public Content
Preprints, manuscript metadata, and author collection pages are public when a user chooses to publish them. Public pages may be indexed by search engines.
Students and Minors
The platform is intended for adult researchers. Students may view public pages. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided personal data, contact us to request removal.
Security
We implement reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal data. No system is completely secure. Users should protect their credentials and report suspected unauthorized access.
Your Rights (GDPR)
Where GDPR applies, users may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing, and port their data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
FIPPA Considerations
If FIPPA applies to users or partners, Orban Foundation will limit collection to what is necessary, use and disclose data only for stated purposes or as required by law, and provide access and correction where legally required.
Cookies and Tracking
We do not use analytics or tracking cookies at this time. The platform may use technically necessary storage for authentication and session management. If we add cookies or analytics in the future, we will update this policy.
